Our Story
Two decades of craft, community, and tradition.
Established 2002
A neighborhood
staple, refined.
Blue Koi first opened in midtown Kansas City in 2002 as a small noodle and dumpling shop. Word spread quickly — the dumplings were handmade, the broths were slow-simmered, and every dish arrived with a sense of care that felt rare.
By 2007, the restaurant found its permanent home in Leawood, where it has been a cornerstone of the community ever since. Over the years, our kitchen has evolved from its Chinese comfort food roots into a full pan-Asian kitchen — drawing from the culinary traditions of China, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Through it all, the philosophy has stayed the same: simple ingredients, thoughtful preparation, precise execution. No shortcuts. No compromises.
